Laundry woes..
To my overseas friends..
In Singapore if you are staying in HDB, just outside the kitchen window, there will be small pipe like holders. To dry your laundry, just peg your laundry on bamboo poles and stuck the poles into the small pipes.. :-) . It is a common sight to see landry drying out on bamboo poles outside the house. That my friend is "Uniquly Singapore"
I'm not housework trained. My hubby did better in this department if he can find the time to do.
He once commented that he don't want me to vacuum the floor as i did a really bad job.. He don't want me to wash the dishes as he don't like the way i arranged the plates..
*shrug* If you ask me... i'd say "Sounds like good news to me :-) "
Infact he is so domesticated that he specifically requested the following for his last few birthdays present...
1) Dyson Vacuum cleaner
2) Whirlpool front loader washer
3) Electronics Front loader washer (when his Whirlpool died after 3 years)
and of course being such a lovely wife, i granted all his wishes and because i'm not the type to use something which i've given as present, (incase people say i "buruk siku") i only use the above a few times only. *grin*
(in defence -> husband said i don't know how to use the machine and he rather i don't touch it. Not that i purposely don't want to learn ok... He still find ways to critic my method.. It's ok babe.. it's all yours)
Anyway as you can see, dear hubby is very particular bout housework.. (understatement?? )
Same goes for laundry.. he just don't like the way i hang out the laundry ..
Since young, my mom taught me how to hang the laundry out to dry.
1) Place heavier wet clothes example jeans towel closer to the bamboo holder and lighter ones like my underwear and bra at the farthest end.
2) Pegs the wet clothes, balancing it and stuck it into the bamboo poles pipes.
See!.
How complicated can it be?
but NO.... obviously i wasn't taught well or he went to elite school or wat.. cos everytime i hang out laundry to dry, he will bring the poles back in and rearrange.
He said
- you hang the jeans wrongly
- you use the wrong pegs..
- this pole too many items..
I mentioned to him once that if he want me to do the laundry, i will not accept any comments else don't ask me to do...
Anyway... sometime back.. i did the laundry.
This is how i hang ... (anything wrong with this??? )
I took quite sometime to hang this u know. While hanging, i'm trying to recall the way he like it best. I want to see if he approve it this time.
He came back from work.
He looked out the balcony.
He didn't say anything... just smile ... smile... (seal of approval?? )
He look at me.. by then i know he's itching to say something hahaha
Finally he cannot control.... then out all his comments hahahha
He brought the poles back in and re-arrange.
This is how he rearrange .. (duh !!! ) I don't see much diff... (ok.. i know i'm not being fair... you can't see much from this pix)
You know.. I also don't like the way he hang the tshirt either. He will slot the pole inside the shirt sleeve thru the next and out the other sleeve. I hate it.. the way he hang, i see can only fit 4 shirt max.
Oh ya.. That night is a very educational night. I'm very priviledge that my husband spare sometime to give me a crash course on Pegs.
Wow... i didn't know it's that tough. He must have done some research on pegs i think cos he said " different pegs are for diff use.. " .. "you see this peg here... ok.. this peg is for tshirt.. " He began his lecture..
See... so complicated.. how am i suppose to remember all that? Luckily no pop quiz.
I told him... " next time i don't want to do laundry.. "
He said.. "takpe...... i still sayang u .. " awwww melting ..
psst : did i tell you that he don't like the way i fold the clothes?
psssst : did i tell you that once when i'm bringing in my laundry a pole full with my underwear slipped from my hand and fell down 4 storeys. hahha i panicked .... woke my bro in law and force him to go downstairs to retrieve it back. I fear that someone happened to see and STOMP it. So the next few days, STOMP is the top of my frequently access page.

Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto ... Li Yundi
Gala: Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto Extravaganza Li Yundi: ''No. 1'' (SSO)
Date : 24th July 09
Time : 7:30pm
Lan Shui, conductor
Li Yundi, piano
We've been discussing this for weeks. How can i forget to buy? Right now, i'm blaming hubby for always tasking me to buy tickets.
He keep asking, " have you bought the tickets ? " at the wrong time... example.. when we were on our home from work.. which is late night by the way and by time we reach home.. i just want to crawl in bed.
Who can remember then? grrrr
or another time he asked me that where we were shopping for groceries... err hello... do i have a pc infront of me now?
Those times when i do remember and infront of pc, i couldn't do it... cos it's working hours.. and by lunch time, i forgotten all about it..
We've been busy.. We forgot...
I'm on OFF today and i remember ...
and i'm upset..
I really am looking forward.. If i only have time to watch 1 performance, this is the only show i want. I want to witness is Li Yundi as great as those critics say.. or maybe i should takeMC or leave and watch the rehearsal at 9am on same day hehehe.
psst : babe... you keen on Postcards From Spain (SSO) or not ?

Baking class July 09
Last Tuesday, went for baking class with Mom. Someone asked, why bother attend class when you can always print out the recipe from Internet.
Yes i can always bake myself at home.. to answer you...
- Baking is a way for me to channel my energy and destress.
- If i bake at school, I don't have a big mess in my kitchen which adds up my stress level haha
- I don't have to buy the ingredients.. all are there waiting to be weighed and use.
- I don't have to remove my mixer from box, clean up and store it back inside the store.
- I don't have to search inside my cabinet the correct baking pan to use..
- I get to meet new people (apart from the usual aunty, there's a young boy, a Japanese girl and an Indonesian Chinese girl this time)
- I get to bond with my mom
- And mom enjoys the class too. When people ask, she simply said she attended the class for 'main-main' which means (play- play which means for her enjoyment) Seeing her happy is priceless.
- The yummy part when i get to bring back and eat my cake
- The bonus part that at the end of each lesson, i am very confident and can guarantee that my cake will turn out pretty good and not end up in garbage due to faults in cake making :-) hehhehe
The coffee walnut pound cake yummy..
Finished the 2 loaves on 2nd day.
I've yet to try the Choclate Macadamia mocha cake.
But lil sis and mom said it's yummy too..

Shin Tokyo - Part 2
(Updates on 30th Jan 2012 : Shin Tokyo Yew Tee branch closed down. The only Shin Tokyo left are at Clementi and Far East)
So long didn't go out dinner together. It's an impromptu decision so Choon Ching and Jalal not joining us. (plus Jalal had a date with horntails)
Place : Shin Tokyo, Yew Tee point branch (nice ambiance... love the wallpaper)
Date : 2nd July
Shin Tokyo is the affiliated outlet of Ramen Ten
I suggested Shin Tokyo because
- it's halal
- it's new
- it's empty
- and of course the 99cents white plate sushi
Being cheapskate, we had a consensus that we will only attack the 99cents plate.
Of course there are other menu, such as the usual menu at Ramen Ten.
And of all days, I choose to leave my camera back home today. (This morning, i decided that the almost 200 grams camera is too heavy for my shoulder *grin*)
..so we took pic using my camera phone.. which of course is bad... as you can see from my previous entry...
Then Wah Seng just being Wah Seng, decided that while we were waiting for dessert, that is the best time to whipped out his new Lumix camera. Doinggg.... !!
Too late can... ???
So this entry is compilation of snaps from Wah Seng's late debut camera, my not very good quality mobile camera and my own almost 200gm heavy camera from past visit to Shin Tokyo.
I find the food ok ok ... you can't expect much from 99cents sushi. It's the ambiance and good company that i like and of course it's HALAL.
いただきます..
The baked rice is from my last visit there. It's not bad... bigger portion than swensens and slightly cheaper i think.
SSo scary... hungry ghost making her presence... hahhahaha
nway.. that's how many cheapass plates we had..
pluss the special order, raw sotong, tuna, prawns, unagi and avocado something...
plus ice cream plus drinks.... each of us pay $14.30
Alright Guys... let us do this again... this time with the other 2 missing guys..
Next time i want to try the ramen..
さようなら...
ps : i just saw at Ramen Ten page that there's Shin Tokyo outlet at Causeway point Banquet.
hmmmmm must checkout tomorrow.
