Asam Pedas Nyonya. Sour, fiery spicy Asam Pedas makes frequent appearance in our lives. When we were growing up, we had fish asam pedas at least once a week. So no surprise that this was one of the first dish I learnt how to cook. For asam pedas, our first choice will always be red snapper and if I can find it, i love ikan sembilang (cat fish). Mini Popiah. I seems to lost any interested to post anything for past weeks. Here's something I prepared for freezer meal last week. I rolled this with left over popiah skin cut to long strips for Samosa so it's really mini popper size. Tonight's dinner is Chicken Curry with Sambal Ikan Bilis Wan. I started cooking as soon as I settled down else I'll be too lazy and there's nothing for bento box tomorrow. We brought back 5 tubs of this sambal ikan bilis and 13 bottles of kueh ros :-) She was nice to accommodate our large order with such short notice. KFC Potato Loaded Bowl. Mashed potatoes, sour cream, cheese sauce and popcorn chicken. I remember they used to add chopped green onions but the last 2 time I ordered they did not add anymore which is a pity. Looking forward to have this. My comfort food. I started cooking dinner very late so something fast to cook tonight. This egg drop soup is my all time fav. The must have in the soup for me is potatoes and 'suun' or glass noodles. I can have this soup just like that or with side dish. Tonight we had this soup with black pepper beef with enough left for tomorrow's Bento box. Previously I added dried shrimp to flavour the soup just like mom's but because I can no longer eat prawns, I added chicken stock or ikan bilis. The chicken stock I used is either simple home made stock or from carton. Either way it's still yum.
