Meatworks
Meatworks : For all you meaty cravings. And more.
Service and food review wasn't good. This restaurant belongs to the daughter of one of Malaysia UMNO member who is currently under investigation together with her family.
That aside, this post is about the restaurant.
An article recently in Berita Harian mentioned that they had their own ranch.
Service so far acceptable. The workers tend to crowd around one corner together.
Foodwise.
Hubby medium rare sirloin. Burnt and chewy.
Wife medium well sirloin. Burnt, chewy and salty.
The damage ? $80 for 2. (before UOB card discount)

Nuh day 4
Start with iv drip. Woke up really early today at 5am as nurse wanted to take blood sample.
Today breakfast is scrambled eggs sounds nice but totally not nice at all. It's scrambled egg white.
Lunch n dinner not bad. Still continue drip every 8 hrs.

Nuh day 3 part 2
Breakfast served. I had chicken porridge.
Western food for lunch n Malay meal for dinner.
Antibiotic drip every 8 hours continues.
Also I witness a nurse helping next bed aunty use commode. After aunty finished, she push the commode to toilet. She opened th toilet door with the soiled glove. Threw the urine into the bowl without flushing, left the commode left unwashed in the toilet and left. I'm pissed as I'm very particular bout toilets. In addition they don't leave me any room to shower. Am I suppose to push that out myself?

Hospitalized on Monday
Rashes still bad. We went to NUH and they warded me.
Test done so far
- blood test for sugar level. Normal
- blood Culture test
- MRSA test
Was given antibiotic via iv and 1 round of saline drip. Waited till 7 before they actually sent me to the ward.
For a 4 bedder, I need to pay deposit of $1.3k. As 4 bedder in NUH is a private ward but since company covered me on 4 bedder so why not. Total amount they will
Covered me is $10 k.
The rest can be paid by medisave however medisave only allow max claim of $400 per day (if I'm not mistake) hence the rest I need to pay.
Eventhough I'm on private ward, the service received so far is far from good with the exeption of one pinoy staffnurse. She's good.
On first night no dinner was given. Only after repeated request they they passed me Milo n cracker.
I ended my first night there with saline drip to be attached for 11 hours.
Day 2
The usual doctor in charge n resident doctor visits. Usual repeated questions asked.
Today breakfast lunch n dinner served. Yeah.
Mom despite repeated request not to come, came with haziq n net.
Another round of drip after dinner. Next drip scheduled at midnight.
Ps : I was sleeping soundly and was not aware that the nurse started the drip on midnight. Tsk

Unwell for the last 2 weeks
I discovered I'm allergic to the following anti biotic.
My face is swollen n body covered with rashes.
Oh the itch. :-(
I'm covered for another 2 days of medical leave. Plus tomorrow, total medical leave for this month alone is 5.
We are approaching year end. This is bad.

I cannot believe i am going to Wings concert
Heheheh "Rock will never die !!!""" I'm quoting Jojo joget.. in one of Noose episode.
I can't recall why I find that sentence funny at that time. I'll try to find the clip n upload.
Anyway wings concert bestla. This guy can sing live. His voice is smooth la.

Jalan2 carik kopi
Lepas maghrib konon nak keluar carik barang untuk buat epok2. (Another of my ambitious idea for this week)
Original plan,
1) lepak pat warong abang makan nasi goreng ngan mee soto.
2) Lepas tu minum kopi pat Civic Centre punya Starbucks which is just 3 bus stop away.
3) pergi cold storage beli tepung for epok2
Pasal kita baru habis makan, babe suggested kita naik feeder bus service pusing satu round. Konon lepas habis tawaf satu woodlands, perut tak le kembung lagi.
Lepas pusing satu round, sampai pat bus interchange nampak bus pergi Tampines. Apa angin kita pun suggestla gi Ikea Tampines. Nanti sampai sana take the next bus home la kita cakap. Dia pun layankan jer.
Da halfway, cakap ngan dia 'apa kata kita gi Tampines Mall. Pat situ pun ada Starbucks. Dengar kata pat sana pun ada Koi.
Hahaha
Fast forward 1hr later, sekarang ni tengah dok pat Tampines Mall Starbucks which is bout 45mins away by car or 1hr 30mins by train or 1 Hr by bus untuk minum kopi mahal sambil update blog, update Facebook, sambil dengar lagu Muse.
Nak ajak my sisters ngan cousins too last min plak dorang tak free. Apa tidaknya da kul 10 malam.
Laki aku plak hepi pasal dia boleh baca paper in peace Hahaha
Jauh betul nak carik kopi eh. Nak balik satu citer lagi ni.
Naik taxilah jawapnya. Taxi dari Tampines sampai Marsiling dalam $18. Mahal sungguh kopi hari ni.

Ayam ketumbar bakar
Still sick so I cook This cos I don't need to be infront of the stove to check on my food.
Just dump the ingredients in a wok. Half cook it, transfer to oven to bake for 40 to 45 mins at 180 degrees celcius.
Serve with rice and refreshing cold tomato salad.

Ingredients
10 shallots
3 garlic
1 inch ginger
8 green chillies
1 bunch mint
1 bunch chinese parsley
5 small limes.
1 tbsp corriander seeds
1 tbsp fennel seeds (i used cumin seeds)
1 whole chicken. Cut to sizes
1- Heat up oven to 180 degrees C
2- Blend the above
3- Dump everything in a wok / pot . Add Salt and pepper to taste
4- Fry till half cook.
5- Transfer to baking tray
6- Cover with alluminium foil, bake for 30mins.
7- Uncover and further bake for another 5 to 10mins
8- Garnish with chopped chinese parsley and fried onions (optional)
Since i'm still recovering from flu, I served with fresh cold tomato salad.

1 chopped huge tomato
chopped corriander leaves (Chinese parsley)
Salt , pepper to taste..

Joy of slowcooker
Oh my I need rest and I need food
Who wants Banquet with overdose salt and MSG
or fast-food which only satiate me for awhile.
I want homecook meal. Period !!!
Out comes Crocker to the rescue.
Meet Crocker the crockpot.
My saviour indeed in my time of need.
1) Dump all ingredients, into the crockpot, leave it on low for 4hrs while i snoozed,
(What's inside. Oxtail, Carrot, Potatoes, Onions, Garlic, Ginger, White and Black Pepper, i added 4 cili padi for heat, Soup Tulang Adabi and a pinch of of Tumeric, Salt)
2) Woke up to yummylicous smell lingering in the air
3) Ready to be eaten. How convenient!!
Sedap oh so tender oxtail soup.
All that's missing is freshly baked bread fro Delifrance.
Hurry hurry delifrance causeway point. When are you re-opening? Someone missing you bad.
Ps : I'm cooking raw meat and slowcooker takes awhile to heat up to safe temperature and since i don't want to risk forming of harmful bacteria due to the raw meat, I usually kick start by heating the whole pot on gas stove first.

Single lone stem
I bought a pretty plant from Ikea couple of months back thinking how nice it'll be to have something pretty and green at my workstation.
This is what happen to my'pretty' plant now.
Hahaha poor plant kena mutilated by me.
I totally don't know how to trim the plant. So I chopped off the whole lot in exasperation.
I was then away for 3 days due to asthma. When I came back, this is what I see.
Single lone reed. Standing tall and proud.
Big thanks to my kakis... I got to know every single person passing by my workstation will give my plant a bath. :-) .
Now this plant whose species I still don't know till now has become the team's pet.
Hopefully poor pretty plant will not drown due to overshower Hahaha

Having yummy maggi goring for lunch.. From where I'm seated I can see so many shoppers passed by with Charles n Keith shopping bag.
Today is the last day for Charles N Keith warehouse sales.

Nice to meet up with ex colleagues. The Muslim food really alot. We can't finish it. Food bt Tung Luk group. So I think food catered by Garuda which is their halal restaurant. The cutleries is different from Chinese food as well which is a nice touch.
Vegetarian food looks delish too. Didn't checkout Chinese table tho.
We reached there late so missed the march in and photo session with Yuki.
