Sourdough Starter Day 2 Breeding my own sourdough starter. I made batch with Plain Flour and another with Rye flour. This is Day 2. It doubled in volume in 24hrs. Bubbly and smelly stage. I was happy till I opened the container and saw brownish streaks. I don’t want to risk contamination and chuck both away ahhaha. Cross section of the Wholemeal bread baked the other day with Phoon Huat premix. Very soft and fluffy even after few days of baking. . If you want fuss free home baked bread, try this premix. I did not check the ingredients so I am not sure any kind of softener added or not. . I did not follow he instruction on the packaging. What I did was, machine knead for about 10mins. Rest for a while and knead again for 10mins . 1st proofing at room temp, deflate and proofed again covered in fridge for few hours.
