I love Ikan Sembilang (one of the many catfish species) but the preparation part is such a chore if not done right, my assam fish will end up fishy. Some tips to remove the fishy taste as taught by mak are 1) clean with salt, lime, assam 2) scrape off the slimy parts off the body 3) remove all the blood clots you can find 4) remove the fishy vein. I always fail this part . On some of the cuts, no matter how many times i poked and pinched, i still have problem finding the veins. Not fun. #ikansembilang #lizaohlala #blog #catfish
