Inconsiderate neighbour

On my way to meet hubby. Found this beside the staircase landing on the staircase groundfloor. Eeeew. How the heck this piece of underwear full of shit landed there. Someone had a bad case of stomach upset right there in the open. Judging from the underwear i belief this belong to a female. Sigh sigh.

It is supposed to be handphone and email free holiday

Yup... it is suppose to be stress free holiday. Away from emails and handphone and computers and internet.

That is the reason why i refuse to bring my handphone charger and laptop along. It's suppose to be just us and food :-)

Boy... how wrong i am...

Day 1.. yup ... i made it.. but I find it hard to sleep at night.. Okie.. I must stop thinking bout my withering farm in Farm Town or feeding my cooks or waitress in Restaurant City. How's my colleagues doing? Did i miss any action??

Day 2...Endure. Haz..endure.. This holiday is about relaxing remember? Let's just enjoy your lunch and shop shop shop. Hmmm... i wonder, how many harvest stolen from my Happy Farm.. Wow... how many emails do i have to clear when i'm back.

Day 2 1/2 .. hubby with his big mouth. He told me there's a pc show nearby the hotel we are staying. We went there.. and 1hr later we came out with mini notebook.

I SWEAR... i just wanted to see. Blame hubby for bringing me there. Must be the cute cute mini notebook in pink. Ok ok. I admit it. Gah.. i'm so addicted that i can't even enjoy my holiday ..without laptop. So i bought one... on impulse. Anyway, hubby allows cos he knows i've been planning to buy 1 for months.

This must be the most expensive purchase during holidays in my history.

Gosh... i'm addicted! I'm a PCholics !! I'm InternetHolics !!!

Anyway... here's my new baby... Lenny

There are better looking ones but this baby comes with 6 cell battery and bluetooth and 3G SIM card slot.

ps : the pink one cost more.
pss : hubby said to just take the pink cos he know i love pink..but i think not worth it.
psss : (in defence) I love traveling, and i always bring laptop whenever we travel. So this mini is much more lighter to carry around right?

yea.. i know.. excuses..

" Hi, my name is Hasliza, I'm 35 years old and i'm PCholics slash InternetHolics)

July 09 wedding

July 09 wedding..

To all the newly weds

Warmest wishes and congratulations. Hoping the years ahead of both of you filled will happiness and the best of everything.

Nuraini and Yasser (Woodlands)

Mr and Mrs Loh

Laundry woes..

To my overseas friends..
In Singapore if you are staying in HDB, just outside the kitchen window, there will be small pipe like holders. To dry your laundry, just peg your laundry on bamboo poles and stuck the poles into the small pipes.. :-) .
It is a common sight to see landry drying out on bamboo poles outside the house. That my friend is "Uniquly Singapore"

I'm not housework trained. My hubby did better in this department if he can find the time to do.

He once commented that he don't want me to vacuum the floor as i did a really bad job.. He don't want me to wash the dishes as he don't like the way i arranged the plates..
*shrug* If you ask me... i'd say "Sounds like good news to me :-) "

Infact he is so domesticated that he specifically requested the following for his last few birthdays present...
1) Dyson Vacuum cleaner
2) Whirlpool front loader washer
3) Electronics Front loader washer (when his Whirlpool died after 3 years)

and of course being such a lovely wife, i granted all his wishes and because i'm not the type to use something which i've given as present, (incase people say i "buruk siku") i only use the above a few times only. *grin*

(in defence -> husband said i don't know how to use the machine and he rather i don't touch it. Not that i purposely don't want to learn ok... He still find ways to critic my method.. It's ok babe.. it's all yours)

Anyway as you can see, dear hubby is very particular bout housework.. (understatement?? )
Same goes for laundry.. he just don't like the way i hang out the laundry ..

Since young, my mom taught me how to hang the laundry out to dry.

1) Place heavier wet clothes example jeans towel closer to the bamboo holder and lighter ones like my underwear and bra at the farthest end.

2) Pegs the wet clothes, balancing it and stuck it into the bamboo poles pipes.

See!.

How complicated can it be?

but NO.... obviously i wasn't taught well or he went to elite school or wat.. cos everytime i hang out laundry to dry, he will bring the poles back in and rearrange.

He said
- you hang the jeans wrongly
- you use the wrong pegs..
- this pole too many items..

I mentioned to him once that if he want me to do the laundry, i will not accept any comments else don't ask me to do...

Anyway... sometime back.. i did the laundry.

This is how i hang ... (anything wrong with this??? )
I took quite sometime to hang this u know. While hanging, i'm trying to recall the way he like it best. I want to see if he approve it this time.

He came back from work.
He looked out the balcony.
He didn't say anything... just smile ... smile... (seal of approval?? )

He look at me.. by then i know he's itching to say something hahaha

Finally he cannot control.... then out all his comments hahahha
He brought the poles back in and re-arrange.

This is how he rearrange .. (duh !!! ) I don't see much diff... (ok.. i know i'm not being fair... you can't see much from this pix)

You know.. I also don't like the way he hang the tshirt either. He will slot the pole inside the shirt sleeve thru the next and out the other sleeve. I hate it.. the way he hang, i see can only fit 4 shirt max.

Oh ya.. That night is a very educational night. I'm very priviledge that my husband spare sometime to give me a crash course on Pegs.

Wow... i didn't know it's that tough. He must have done some research on pegs i think cos he said " different pegs are for diff use.. " .. "you see this peg here... ok.. this peg is for tshirt.. " He began his lecture..

See... so complicated.. how am i suppose to remember all that? Luckily no pop quiz.

I told him... " next time i don't want to do laundry.. "

He said.. "takpe...... i still sayang u .. " awwww melting ..

psst : did i tell you that he don't like the way i fold the clothes?

psssst : did i tell you that once when i'm bringing in my laundry a pole full with my underwear slipped from my hand and fell down 4 storeys. hahha i panicked .... woke my bro in law and force him to go downstairs to retrieve it back. I fear that someone happened to see and STOMP it. So the next few days, STOMP is the top of my frequently access page.

Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto ... Li Yundi

Gala: Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto Extravaganza Li Yundi: ''No. 1'' (SSO)
Date : 24th July 09
Time : 7:30pm

Lan Shui, conductor
Li Yundi, piano

We've been discussing this for weeks. How can i forget to buy? Right now, i'm blaming hubby for always tasking me to buy tickets.

He keep asking, " have you bought the tickets ? " at the wrong time... example.. when we were on our home from work.. which is late night by the way and by time we reach home.. i just want to crawl in bed.
Who can remember then? grrrr

or another time he asked me that where we were shopping for groceries... err hello... do i have a pc infront of me now?

Those times when i do remember and infront of pc, i couldn't do it... cos it's working hours.. and by lunch time, i forgotten all about it..

We've been busy.. We forgot...

I'm on OFF today and i remember ...

and i'm upset..

I really am looking forward.. If i only have time to watch 1 performance, this is the only show i want. I want to witness is Li Yundi as great as those critics say.. or maybe i should take MC or leave and watch the rehearsal at 9am on same day hehehe.

psst : babe... you keen on
Postcards From Spain (SSO) or not ?

Baking class July 09

Last Tuesday, went for baking class with Mom. Someone asked, why bother attend class when you can always print out the recipe from Internet.

Yes i can always bake myself at home.. to answer you...
- Baking is a way for me to channel my energy and destress.
- If i bake at school, I don't have a big mess in my kitchen which adds up my stress level haha
- I don't have to buy the ingredients.. all are there waiting to be weighed and use.
- I don't have to remove my mixer from box, clean up and store it back inside the store.
- I don't have to search inside my cabinet the correct baking pan to use..
- I get to meet new people (apart from the usual aunty, there's a young boy, a Japanese girl and an Indonesian Chinese girl this time)
- I get to bond with my mom
- And mom enjoys the class too. When people ask, she simply said she attended the class for 'main-main' which means (play- play which means for her enjoyment) Seeing her happy is priceless.
- The yummy part when i get to bring back and eat my cake
- The bonus part that at the end of each lesson, i am very confident and can guarantee that my cake will turn out pretty good and not end up in garbage due to faults in cake making :-) hehhehe

The coffee walnut pound cake yummy..
Finished the 2 loaves on 2nd day.

I've yet to try the Choclate Macadamia mocha cake.
But lil sis and mom said it's yummy too..

Shin Tokyo - Part 2

(Updates on 30th Jan 2012 : Shin Tokyo Yew Tee branch closed down. The only Shin Tokyo left are at Clementi and Far East)

So long didn't go out dinner together. It's an impromptu decision so Choon Ching and Jalal not joining us. (plus Jalal had a date with horntails)

Place : Shin Tokyo, Yew Tee point branch (nice ambiance... love the wallpaper)
Date : 2nd July

Shin Tokyo is the affiliated outlet of Ramen Ten

I suggested Shin Tokyo because
- it's halal
- it's new
- it's empty
- and of course the 99cents white plate sushi

Being cheapskate, we had a consensus that we will only attack the 99cents plate.

Of course there are other menu, such as the usual menu at Ramen Ten.

And of all days, I choose to leave my camera back home today. (This morning, i decided that the almost 200 grams camera is too heavy for my shoulder *grin*)

..so we took pic using my camera phone.. which of course is bad... as you can see from my previous entry...

Then Wah Seng just being Wah Seng, decided that while we were waiting for dessert, that is the best time to whipped out his new Lumix camera. Doinggg.... !!

Too late can... ???

So this entry is compilation of snaps from Wah Seng's late debut camera, my not very good quality mobile camera and my own almost 200gm heavy camera from past visit to Shin Tokyo.

I find the food ok ok ... you can't expect much from 99cents sushi. It's the ambiance and good company that i like and of course it's HALAL.

いただきます..

The baked rice is from my last visit there. It's not bad... bigger portion than swensens and slightly cheaper i think.

SSo scary... hungry ghost making her presence... hahhahaha

nway.. that's how many cheapass plates we had..
pluss the special order, raw sotong, tuna, prawns, unagi and avocado something...

plus ice cream plus drinks.... each of us pay $14.30

Alright Guys... let us do this again... this time with the other 2 missing guys..
Next time i want to try the ramen..

さようなら...

ps : i just saw at Ramen Ten page that there's Shin Tokyo outlet at Causeway point Banquet.
hmmmmm must checkout tomorrow.

Michael Jackson...

Wow i turned on TV from 7am today and till 9am, it is still talking bout Michael Jackson's passing on. They interviewed people who are saying nice stuffs about him, albeit too late i think. And can u believe this... they started talking bout how much debts/assert he's leaving behind...

His first music video that i saw.... is thriller.. i was just a young kid then .. just 8 years old... Remember i was stying with granny. My aunty got a Video of Michael Jackson Music Video i think.. (Must remember to ask her. )

Then there's beat it, billie jean and the whole long list of worthy mentioned songs..
And who can forget that red leather jacket.
(psst... 1 of my fav is "They Don't Care About Us" )

He co wrote "We are the world.. "(one of my fav KTV song.. which i brutally kill at KTV.. haha)

We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So lets start giving

Theres a choice were making
Were saving our own lives
Its true well make a better day
Just you and me

I'm not a fan but i appreciate his music.
He wrote brillant songs..
I love his music videos..
He's a great choreographer ..
He's a performer..
He's a man of many faces..
He's genius..
He's kooky..

He love kids.. He ack like one. Many think he's guilty but many also think he's just being misunderstood.

Now that he's no longer around, i bet, there'll be bloodsuckers out there
claiming Michael did this or that to him.. And this time, Michael not there
to defend himself.

All eyes will be zooming to his 3 kids now. Yo Papz.. let them mourn in peace can?

Larry King said this morning
" .. it's hard to love him . But it's also hard to forget him "

For me ... i'll remember him like this

ps : He's 50??? waah !!

Are you a Michael Jackson fan??

Part 2 : Testing Lumix DMC-TZ7 - Assorted pix

Testing close shot of my DS.

Played this dunno how long still cannot complete ... stuck... at 1 particular scene..
then stop for months .. then replay again.. and stuck at the same place again.

Time buat kueh bakar lauk pun sempat amik gambar...

Nak recipe... mintak..

Kueh Bakar Lauk.. mould..

pssst no picture of finish kueh.. cos lumix low bat hghaha

and my fav... pix

Aura telling me her aeroplane experience... :p
" ... Aura take aeroplane... Best ... "

I know i'm suppose to add in NDP rehearsal videos but videos taking quite sometime to upload.

Tomorrow perhaps..

Part 1 : Testing Lumix DMC-TZ7 - NDP 09 Rehearsal 20/06

This page takes awhile to load...

Went back to shop to swap Sony DSC H20 to DMC-TZ7

My husband read in paper that there will be NDP rehearsal at Marina last Saturday.
Tot it will be best to test out new camera there ..

Verdict from a NOOB... cannot compare point and shoot camera to semi manual camera. Lumix is very easy to use. It's many preset settings suits a noob like me. Love the 12X optical zoom and the dunno how many times digital zoom Love the zooming function under video mode. Love the HD feature. But because of Sony manual function, low light picture turns out better.

I would love to get DSLR camera ... but i know it'll just be another white elephant.

Lumix suits my husband better. That guy just know how to point and shot. Even with auto settings, dunno how he still manage to take bad shot hahahah ..

It's a pity that not many people turn up. Singapore tourism board should publicise the rehearsal. I'm sure tourist would love to take up fireworks pix ..

Here are the pix

Clockwise
- Playing with one of the many settings
- Gloomy sky
- Goverment playing a part in keeping Singapore river clean. Even on the platform got portable loo.
- My husband glass after being sprayed with seawater by Chinook Helicopter. (Chinook fly past so near that those beside the river sprayed by the water. Very shiok.. )

Testing out the 12 x optical zoom + the digital zoom

- without zoom
- with optical + digital zoom.. i think bout close to 40x. pix turns out ok.
anything more than 40x picture very blur
- testing night shots
- firing of cannon. (very loud)

- Testing the wind angle lens
- Testing night shot again
- The fireworks settings doesn't really work for a noob like me. THis was taken with auto settings
- Merlion with Fullerton settings.

Will upload videos taken with Lumix TZ7 of Chinook Helicopter flypass and fireworks next..

Ja ne..

Introducing Fugly Sunny... Part 2

Introducing Fugly Sunny... Part 2...

Sunny ... takes great pictures...
Work great in low light condition...

Love it....

I tried all the features..

Love it...

i played with the manual settings

Love it...

The 10x optical zoom additional digital zoom work so well
that i can see the face of the guy smoking from opposite building really clear.

But......

Today Sunny refuses to detect the memory card.

This happened twice since i adopted Sunny. (the first happened yesterday... and i've reformated the card also)

To make matter worse... i cannot even view the files from computer. So all gone now..

My initial guess guess will be (card having problem. But i don't have same problem using card on my mobile phone plus it's a brand new card)

Another guess will be... Sunny is a faulty set. Of course i can always get it replaced since it's still within 7 working days..

But i will be using this camera everytime i travel and i want piece of mind and not worrying all the time is my files going to be ok...

Hence with heavy heart, i have decided to return Sunny and switch to Lumix TZ7.. tomorrow..

ps.... : All pictures taken at dinner to celebrate my pretty sister birthday and princess aura's princess smile plus pictures of newly wed sis and hubby camwhoring all gone ... ...*sob*sob*

Kiasu virus

Mobile update. Pc show suntec. It's not even 10am and that's how long starhub mol q. Can spot my husband in the q? Hahaha

Introducing Fugly Sunny...

It's 2am and i need to wake up early tomorrow.. But i can't sleep before posting this hehehe
So pardon my long babblings..

The story...

Before walking in, my mind was set on the Lumix DMC-TZ7.

YOu know the one with the 12x Optical Zoom.. The one that with zoom function on video mode. I did my research. Eventho there's some grouses review on DMC-TZ7, i was adament to get it. (no pink unfortunately).

Side track.
My last 2 digital camera is Canon. My last trusted Canon is now aging and like other aging beings, i need to treat it with respect and hold it tenderly otherwise it'll refuse to coorperate with me. Hump...

Since i'm unsure if my Canon can survive the 2 weeks cold weather, i borrowed dad's Lumix to New York last year and and I like it all the shots turns out... (old Lumix model) In my opinion, dad's Lumix takes better picture in low light... and picture quality quite good too.

So we Walked to counter and tried dozen of cameras.(I tried the pinks first hehehe)
I want to make sure that i try all that appeals to me... or i'll be wondering bout it in months to come.
At this point, I still have not test Lumix DMC-TZ7 as i don't confuse myself on what to buy...

One of the camera that i quite like is a bright Pink Sony DSC-W220/P.

I don't like sony camera.. I don't know why. Those late nights researching, not once did i even consider or read on SONY.

But just now, What attract me is the bright Pink colour and the small palm size..

Price is at $390 is reasonable. The camera comes with SOny standard features. And i like that this camera work well under low light. The cons -> only 4x zoom and no zoom funtion for video recording. No wide lens.

Finally i tried Lumix DMC-TZ7.

Boy... i'm disappointed.

I'm not a pro...at all. I don't know what is aperture size or ISO or shutter speed.. and if you ask me 2 compare pictures of same object taken from 2 diff camera, i won't be able to tell the diff... and point out noise like wat pro can do.

But Lumix tz7 tad disappointing.. i can't point out which part.. but i can tell you.. the lagness in between shots and slow focus is going to annoy me in future. And also the 12x zoom shots does not turns on nice.

Jialat... now which one to choose.. Sony Pink or Lumix tz7.... ??

I don't know .. how?

But i know what i want in camera... what i want is simple.

I told him. I want ...

1 - High optical zoom (so i can zoom in to that handsome dude suntanning hahahaha )
2 - Optical image stabilzer
3 - ZOom mode durng video recording
4 - Able to perform well under low lighting.
5 - fast
6 - small enough to fit into my small bag (so SLR is no no... i don't want to go pro..)
7 - wide angle .. (this is not a Must)

Then out come this ugly baby ... Sony DSC H20... (Let's call it Sunny)

My first reaction.... urgsss... fugly..
2nd reaction... Not pink ...
3rd reaction ... bigger than Lumix (but still small enough for my bag)

i tried..

tried and tried all possible ways i know i'm going to subject Sunny to in future.

Even asked the guy for bigger memory card for me to test video recording.. and playback.

I'm worried that this camera cannot take good shots in low lighting area. So i told i'd like to test it.
He brought me out of shop to low light area to test the low lighting features.

(hehehe that is how fussy i am when i buy stuffs okie. I want this camera to last me 2 years at least so i must be really sure.)

Some of you will point out that it's not Leica lens... Well i don't care... as i mentioned.. i'm not a pro.

Woo Hoo...

I love it! i love it ! i love it ! .... my only grouse... is the lens.. It's not wide angle..
I can live with the body... i can always paste cute cute pinku or heart shape stickers kekekekke

But..

But i still want the Lumix.... sigh..

Then hubby said ... if i take Lumix... he predict, i will grumble and pester him to get another camera end of this year cos i can't stand the lagness. ( hahahah he knows me well )

Told the salesman... I walk into the store today with my mind set on Lumix and since he shown me Sony and i like it, and now i have to get it... but the 30mins there is not enough for me to fully test the camera before purchase and i didn't even read up on SOny. What if i don't like it... can i change back?

He said no problem.. they got exchange policy... so if i don't like the camera, i can return and exhange to Lumix TZ7 or the Pink Sony... he will get me to test till Monday and he will call me on Monday. If i still don't want, just go back to exchange another model.

(ps : Just incase you don't know. Some store allow that. Just be sure to ask on the exchange policy first before buying. I was so stupid last time... so there's many many times, i've ended with stuffs i'm not happy with.

I did the same thing when i purchase my last Home theater system. I bought Philips then 2 days later, i carted the whole box back to exchange to JVC... just be sure to have this agreement with the sales person... so you'll don't feel so embarrassed heheh )

Yeah.. yeah.. Yeah...... Yeah....

I'm now charging the battery.. Will test shot tomorrow..

After tomorrow... Canon the senior will be retiring permanently.

And here.. introducing Fugly Baby..Sony DSC-H20 .. aka Sunny.

Thank you hubby for letting me buy this... Now ... about my handphone ... hahahhaha

Famous Rochor beancurd cutting cost?

Mobile upload. This place as crowded as usual. I don't remember the portion that less. At 1$ a bowl i consider the price steep. And till now i still find the taste same as at hawker centre. Husband said the franchise branch serve almost full bowl.
